NEW! SHORT FILM COMPETITION

News11.05.2023

The Domino Award for the best short film, which will be presented for the first time at IFFI #32, is endowed with 1,000 euros and is awarded by ZeMIT as part of the Domino Effect project. The focus is on filmmakers whose work has provided particularly inspiring impulses on current topics in the film industry such as intimacy coordination, "MeToo", appropriate representation in film and anti-discrimination.

ARIBADA is a resurrected monster who meets Las Traviesas, a group of indigenous transwomen; L'ESCALE vividly illustrates the difficulties Congolese artists face when travelling; NAZARBAZI arranges a multitude of film scenes that creatively deal with the forbidden touching of men and women in Iran; SEVEREN POL shows teenager Margo's difficult coming-of-age period; TELO KHANA follows the choreography of everyday life in a small Belarusian town; and WILL MY PARENTS COME TO SEE ME? is a sensitive and powerful examination of the death penalty in Somalia.
