TELO KHANA (KHAN’S FLESH)

We follow the choreography of everyday life in a small Belarusian town. The inhabitants physically reproduce a network of rules, norms and ideas through control, praise and punishment: a wedding, court instructions, school lessons, a dance group performance, and the fire brigade checking their ladders and hoses. The precisely composed static shots shed light on predefined processes and reveal the performativity of daily routines. The rapid sequences gradually create a shrewd social mosaic.
