News – 07.06.2023
IFFI #32 was opened on June 6, 2023 at 7 pm in the Leokino by festival director Anna Ladinig, Melanie Wiener, Deputy Head of the Cultural Department of the Province of Tyrol and Uschi Schwarzl City Councillor for Culture of the City of Innsbruck. Afterwards, the screening of the film LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG by Antonio Lukich took place in the presence of the director. After the screening there was a party with guests and audience in the Leokino Foyer. The film is part of the audience competition and is about twins Kolja and Vasja (played by rappers Amil and Ramil Nasirov) who could not be more different: One is a (too) honest policeman, the other a bus driver and petty criminal. When they learn that their father is dying in Luxembourg, they embark on a journey. Lukich, who also deals with his own experience with his father in LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG, succeeds in making a funny, colorful film that tells a lot about Ukraine after independence and before the war. The film screens again at Cinematograph on Friday, June 9 at 9:45 pm.
