Opening IFFI #35

On Tuesday, June 2, the IFFI – International Film Festival Innsbruck kicks off its 35th edition. Running through June 7, the festival will present around 70 films from nearly as many countries, inviting audiences on a cinematic journey through a wide variety of perspectives, narrative forms, and realities of life.

The opening ceremony will take place at 7:00 p.m. at Leokino Innsbruck. The audience will be welcomed by festival director Anna Ladinig as well as representatives from the State of Tyrol, the City of Innsbruck, and the BMWKMS.

Following the ceremony, the film MEU SEMBA (2026) will be screened in the presence of director Hugo Salvaterra. The film opens the festival program and offers a first glimpse into the thematic diversity of IFFI #35.

After the film, the IFFI invites everyone to wrap up the evening together with a buffet in the foyer of the Leokino.
