For the audience competition, six moving international feature films are nominated for the Tirol Kliniken prize worth 3,000 euros. After the screening, the audience evaluates the film with ballots (rating 1-5) and in this way chooses the winning film in this category.
Entertaining, exciting films are also available for the audience to choose from this year: In Jan-Christoph Gockel's (the director is part of the documentary film jury and will be present at the IFFI) THE REVOLUTION FRISST IHRE KINDER! a theatre group tries to perform Büchner's "Danton's Death" as puppet theatre in Burkina Faso. GAGALAND tells of the phenomenon of gagadancing in China and is based on the real life of the amateur actor Pink Hair. LUXEMBOURG, LUXEMBOURG is also the opening film of IFFI #32 and shows the different lives of the Ukrainian twins Kolja and Vasja. In TENGO SUEÑOS ELÉCTRICOS, director Valentina Maurel deals with the special relationship of 16-year-old Eva with her self-absorbed father. Carlos in UN VARÓN is also only 16 and in a difficult situation: he lives in a home and gets involved in violent gang activities. Another special project was the film WAR PONY, which is set in the Lakota reservoir Pine Ridge, one of the poorest places in North America, and was developed collaboratively with residents from Pine Ridge itself.
