Film Submission – Volksbank Tirol Short Film Competition (IFFI #35)
Short films with a connection to Tyrol can be submitted for the Volksbank Tirol Short Film Competition. This connection may relate to the filmmakers, the production context or the thematic content of the film. All genres and formats are welcome.
Film Requirements
The maximum length is 30 minutes including credits. Eligible submissions are productions completed between 2024 and 2026. A premiere is not required. However, submitted films may not be shown publicly in Innsbruck or Tyrol between January and June 2026. All films must include English subtitles, regardless of their original language.
Submission
For the submission, the following information is required: film title, details on director and production, year of production, runtime and a viewing link. A short synopsis of no more than 500 characters and two to three stills in sufficient resolution are also required. Submissions must be sent by email to [email protected]. No submission fee is charged.
Selection and Notification
The selection of films is carried out by a jury or the IFFI programming team. Selected filmmakers will be notified by email no later than the end of March 2026. No individual feedback regarding the selection process will be provided. All decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
Screening and Technical Information
Festival screenings will take place via DCP or on 16mm or 35mm. Subtitles must be provided in English or German and either embedded in the image or delivered as an SRT file. By submitting their film, filmmakers grant the festival the non-exclusive right to use stills and short excerpts of up to 130 seconds for press, promotional and archival purposes. The Volksbank Tirol Award is endowed with 1,000 euros.
