JURY DOCUMENTARY COMPETITION ⁠ at the price of the City of Innsbruck⁠. ⁠ This year we are happy to welcome Varja Močnik, Arami Ullón und Mona Schwitzer as members of the jury for the prize of 3,000 Euro. A warm welcome, we are looking forward to your visit! ⁠ ⁠

Varja Močnik:graduated in film and TV directing studies in Ljubljana, Slovenia. She worked as a TV director for a decade, has directed several films, most lately a documentary feature-length film entitled Buldožer – Pljuni istini u oči (2017). She also began writing about film and later cooperated with the Slovenian Cinematheque as a film curator. She has been working in different roles for the International Film Festival Kino Otok – Isola Cinema since its beginnings and has been its film programme selector for the last few years.

Arami Ullón was born in 1978 in Asunción, Paraguay. She produced 18 and a half cigarettes (SPAIN/MEX/PAR – 2011) and directed the feature documentaries El tiempo nublado (CH/PAR – 2014) and Apenas el Sol (CH/PAR – 2020). Her feature documentary debut was awarded the Regard Neuf for Best First Film at Visions du Réel (2014) and was the first Paraguayan entry to the Oscars (2016). She writes, directs, and produces, moving between Switzerland and various Latin American cities.

Mona Schwitzer, born in Innsbruck in 1985, is a dramaturg and soon-to-be pedagogue. She studied comparative literature as well as theatre and film arts in Innsbruck, Vienna and Paris. As a dramaturg, she primarily works for the theatre, e.g. at Schauspielhaus Graz and Volkstheater Wien. She is a member of the Golden Pixel Cooperative, a Vienna- based non-profit association for moving images, art and media, whose activities concentrate on the interface between exhibition space and cinema.

Drei Frauen sind in getrennten Porträts nebeneinander abgebildet. Die erste trägt eine Sonnenbrille auf dem Kopf und steht unter einem Regenschirm, die zweite hat kurzes dunkles Haar und einen neutralen Gesichtsausdruck, und die dritte hat glattes blondes Haar und lächelt. Das Bild hat eine blaue Tönung.
