Patricio Guzmán explores his homeland, Chile, through its ever-present mountains: the Andes mountain range, the Cordillera, makes up around 80 per cent of the country’s land area. Guzmán speaks with artists and researchers to discover what the Cordillera has to do with the essence of Chile and its people – it resembles a protective wall that shields the country, but also isolates it. This blends reflections on filmmaking with videos and memories from the military dictatorship, which still shapes the nation’s identity – and, of course, footage of the Cordillera, the silent witness to this dark era.

Please note: The screening will take place outdoors. Even when temperatures are warm in the valley, it can get chilly in the evenings at the Seegrube – we recommend bringing warm clothing, jackets and blankets. Feel free to bring your own seating or use the deckchairs provided. The food and drink area is open.

The event will only take place in good weather. If the weather is uncertain, we will provide updates here and on our social media channels regarding whether the event will go ahead.
