IFFI IS A GREEN FESTIVAL

GREEN FESTIVAL IFFI has taken another step towards becoming a more sustainable and environmentally friendly festival. Supported by the Tyrolean Climate Alliance, IFFI has been certified as a Green Event Tirol. This has been possible, because both Leokino and Cinematograph had already taken measures to promote sustainability.

What does this mean?

- Leokino and Cinematograph are easily accessible on foot, by bicycle and using public transport (www.ivb.at). A festival pass contingent also includes an IVB ticket for public transport throughout the duration of the festival.

- Leokino and Cinematograph use reusable packaging systems at its bars and offers fair local and regional products.

- Leokino and Cinematograph use green electricity. Using a laser projector in Leokino 1, for example, has reduced power consumption due to decreased heat generation.

- Leokino and Cinematograph are wheelchair-accessible.

- In all our festival preparations, we try to avoid waste and diligently separate the waste we produce. The flags are made in a way that they can be used for several years. The banners can be further processed, and we try to calculate the number of products as carefully as possible.

- All advertising material (e.g., the programme folder and bags) are produced locally and are made of certified material. For example, our programme is printed on 100% recycling paper (certified with the labels Nordic Swan, Blauer Engel und EURO-ECO-Label) at Steiger Druck printing shop in Axams close to Innsbruck.

- If possible, we prefer our guests to travel by train to and from Innsbruck. Our festival hotel Nala also strives to minimise its ecological footprint by using low-energy construction systems, green electricity, 100% ecological cleaning agents and cosmetic products as well as a breakfast buffet that almost exclusively consists of regional and/or seasonal organic produce.
