News24.04.2023

In the period from June 6 to 11, it's that time again: Over six days, the IFFI - International Film Festival Innsbruck will take place at the Leokino and Cinematopgraph, attracting international guests and filmmakers to Innsbruck. At the largest film festival in western Austria, selected films from all over the world will be shown for the 32nd time, presented in various competitions and sections.

Around 70 films from various genres will be shown, which are often underrepresented in the cinema mainstream and whose perspectives worth seeing will be made accessible to a broad audience.

In the feature film, documentary film, short film and youth film competitions, a renowned jury of experts will award prizes, and in the audience competition, visitors themselves will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites.

In addition, the sections "Worldwide Visions" and the "Retrospective" offer diverse selections of particularly exciting films from all genres - from film classics to experimental films, very different perspectives and types of films will be shown here.

In addition to the film screenings in the two Innsbruck art-house cinemas, there will be a cultural supporting program that will bring guests, filmmakers and visitors together beyond the cinema. In addition to debates and lectures on selected films and their themes, workshops, concerts, DJ sets and free open-air film screenings will invite people to socialize. Special highlights are always the official opening of the festival on June 6 at 7 p.m. and the festive awards ceremony on Saturday evening at 8 p.m. in the Leokino.
