16-year-old Yuni is in her final year at school and might be able to go to university thanks to her good grades. This would allow her to escape her fate and avoid having to marry. The only subject she struggles with is literature. What’s more, Yuni has fallen for her teacher. The real trouble, however, begins when Yuni’s beauty begins to attract admirers. It is considered an honour to be proposed to; declining more than twice is not the done thing. All of a sudden, Yuni’s chances for leading a self-determined life begin to dwindle.
