BUTTERFLY VISION

After months as a prisoner of war, Lilia, a drone pilot for the Ukrainian army, is released. Traumatised by her experiences, she first has to find her way back into civilian life. She rejects the media's appropriation of her as heroine or victim, suffers from flashbacks and is pregnant. Lilia's husband, also a soldier, is now part of an ultra-nationalist group. Using social media and drone footage, the film paints a nuanced picture of a society at war. Nakonechnyi co-wrote his debut film together with Iryna Tsylik (THE EARTH IS BLUE AS AN ORANGE).
