TROP C’EST TROP (ENOUGH IS ENOUGH)
2026, France/DR Congo
Elisé Sawasawa
For thirty years, life in Kivu, a region rich in resources in the eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo, has been marked by armed conflict and war. Since 2022, it has had to endure yet another offensive by M23 rebels, supported by Rwanda. “Enough is enough!” people say and shout in Elisé Sawasawa’s film. The director documents the life-threatening conditions on the ground, as well as the frustration and anger directed at the hostile groups, their ‘own’ apparently inactive government and the UN peacekeeping mission. In doing so, he finds a will to fight, dance, sing, as well as an inextinguishable lust for life.
