THIS RAIN WILL NEVER STOP (STREAM)

In atmospheric black-and-white images, Alina Gorlova brings together fragments of the Kurdish-Syrian Suleyman family, scattered across several countries, and their lives. Andriy has lived with his parents in the Donbass region for nine years, where he has worked as a volunteer for the Red Cross since the war began. His brother marries a cousin in Berlin; his uncle treats injured fighters in Iraq. In the four-year period covered by the film, we observe how Andriy is torn apart: Does he want to live a life in safety in Germany? Can he really turn his back on his former homeland?
