THE MIGRATING IMAGE

In this film consisting of found footage, Stefan Kruse Jørgensen reflects on images produced on the subject of displacement and fleeing and its representations. The material is heterogeneous and is sourced from the Facebook pages of smugglers who use luring images of luxury liners and Caribbean seas, institutional propaganda films portraying the coast guard as heroes, people who themselves are trying to reach other countries and send photos and videos to family, FRONTEX operations, as well as journalists. The overproduction of images contrasts with the personal tragedies.
