ROOZ-E SIB (THE APPLE DAY)
10-year-old Saeed and his younger brother Mahdi live in a suburb of Tehran. Skyscrapers rise up on their doorstep, but seem to be out of reach for the family. Hoping for a better future, their mother convinces their father to move to the city. She works as a laundress; their father sells apples with Saeed – until his car is stolen. Despite all their setbacks, the family support each other. Saeed in particular feels gret responsibility for his little brother.ROOZ-E SIB is a social study of rural exodus, but is still full of warmth and love.
