ROID

Sadu marries a young woman, arranged by the landowner whose fields he works. Her norm-deviating behaviour leads the local villagers to quickly declare her mad, and her husband takes drastic measures to get rid of her. ROID drifts into a world of fascinating and at times unsettling symbolism. Set against the vast expanse of the Bengal River Delta, often shrouded in darkness illuminated only by fire, the film intertwines myths from Hinduism and the Bible while shedding light on real-world power structures.
