HONG SE ZANG LI (RED FUNERAL)

A village in rural China. The grandmother of 12-year-old Bai Lu has passed away. The funeral is taking place, but Bai Lu is not allowed to attend – because traditional rules forbid her to do so. So she watches the funeral procession from a distance and tries to say goodbye to her grandmother in her own way. Calm and touching, this film directed by Jane Zhang accompanies the girl through a difficult phase in which she must come to terms with her grief and, at the same time, accept changes in her own body.
