OLIVIA

A small, triangular hut in Tierra del Fuego is Olivia’s whole world. At night, she roams through the surrounding countryside collecting insects. It seems as though this grown woman and her father are leading a simple life – yet time, space and existence soon begin to blur in Sofía Petersen’s feature film debut. When her father fails to return from his work at the slaughterhouse one day, Olivia leaves the safety of her familiar surroundings and sets out in search of him, embarking on a journey of self-discovery through light and shadow, brilliantly realised using 16mm film and an intense soundscape.
