NOW
1965, Cuba
Santiago Alvarez
In a rousing rhythm, Santiago Alvarez assembles excerpts from documentary films and photos without commentary. Frame by frame, the film's message becomes more radical, ending in a cry of revolt against racial discrimination. Lena Horne sings "Now," an anti-racist protest song that was banned in the US. The film is still relevant today and seems like a modern video clip.
