MES FANTÔMES ARMÉNIENS (MY ARMENIAN PHANTOMS) 

In a cinematic dialogue with her father, a well-known Armenian actor who died in 2020, Tamara Stepanyan intertwines the stories of her family, her country and Armenian cinema, reflecting on her own role as director. Not only do filmmakers such as Sergei Parajanov and Artavazd Peleshyan find their place in Stepanyan’s documentary, but also lesser-known international names – as well as the women who worked behind the scenes. Stepanyan uses film clips, private recordings and spoken text to create a moving document of great relevance for contemporary history.
