LATINO BAR
Paul Leduc
A simple bar, somewhere in Latin America between shacks and narrow walkways in a sea of rigs, is a meeting place for the poorest of the poor. People come and go, uniformed killers murder dedicated people, a boy falls in love with a girl. The film gathers an arc full of small scenes and sensitively observed stories that gives new shape to old myths. The tragic and impressive images it finds for this, together with the music completely without language, span a microcosm that stands for the everyday life of Latin America. (filmdienst.de)
