JUUNT PASTAZA ENTSARI (THE WATERS OF PASTAZA)

Actually, Alves didn't want to make a film. After her studies in London, she went to an Achua village of 80 people in the Ecuadorian Amazon for two months to work at the school. In the mornings she taught the children, in the afternoons she learned from them, did film workshops with them and finally began to film: the children fishing, boating, playing ball, cooking, playing mobile phones, ... The film gets by without dialogue, observes benevolently, focuses on the children without negating the world of the adults, without romanticising.
