HOLY ELECTRICITY
2024, Georgia/Netherlands
Tato Kotetishvili
After the death of his father, Bart takes his cousin Goga under his wing. Together, they scour junkyards for recyclables; not only to make ends meet, but also to pay off Bart’s gambling debt. Crosses upcycled with colourful LEDs might be the solution to their financial problems. With evident compassion, Tato Kotetishvili portrays people on the fringes of the Georgian capital along this loose storyline. He works with amateur actors and their spaces, with confident image composition and an eye for the absurdities of everyday life.
