ERTAK (FAIRY TALE)

A young gay man lives with his mother in an Uzbek village. The neighbours gossip about him; the mother is embarrassed and doesn’t want to be seen in public. Her son is faced with a difficult decision: only if he leaves his mother and the country will he be able to live a safe and free life. With great empathy, Kamila Rustambekova tells a love story between two young men; but it is also a tale of loss, homophobia and the brutality that comes with it.
