A handful of people without a home in El Paso, Texas, at the Mexican border: addicts, veterans, people forsaken by society for different reasons. A centre for homeless offers protection to some of them during the night; during the day, Carlos Alfonso Corral listens to their stories and their dreams. Maintaining empathic distance, he always treats the people he talks to with respect. In contrasting black-and-white images, they grant us insight into their lives and stories, their dreams and views of the world.
