DER WOLF IST MEIN BRUDER (1st America Film Festival, 1992)
Marie Bardischewski
Documentary film about the situation of the North American indigenous population, which, using the example of three young people, attempts to show the difficult balancing act between adapting to the "American way of life" and returning to Indian traditions. Unemployment, despair and drug use come up as well as the struggle for one's own identity and the attempts to find an Indian way to adapt through "survival schools". The film features some footage of spiritual ceremonies captured on film for the first time, making them unique ethnographic documents. (filmdienst.de)
