DANZÓN (2nd American Film Festival, 1993)

Julia is a telephone operator in Mexico City. Her whole love belongs to the danzón, the Mexican version of the tango. Once a week, she indulges her passion in an old-fashioned dance hall. But when her long-time dance partner Carmelo suddenly disappears, Julia is abruptly torn from her routine.
