The Fidel Castro regime experimented with genetic engineering in secret labs to work on creating the ideal human being for the future. Of course, some things went wrong – while the guinea pigs have superpowers, they are also somewhat physically or emotionally troubled. They are now trying to organise themselves as an underground terror organisation. Miguel Coyula’s super low-budget project is a beautifully shot gloomy sci-fi genre film that, fined-tuned with real as well as staged media reports, levels political criticism with the signature Cuban cinema irony.
