ČAS PIDLOTU (TIME TO THE TARGET)

When this film was made, Lviv was around 1,000 kilometres from the nearest front line – roughly the same distance by road would take you to the Austrian border. Russia’s war of aggression is ever-present in western Ukraine, too. Over the course of more than a year, Vitaly Mansky follows life in the city, oscillating between daily routines and a state of emergency. Recurring protagonists include the members of a military band and a cemetery worker – funerals, memorial services and air raid sirens dictate the city’s rhythm.
