ALIS

“Tell me about Alis.” This is Clare Weiskopf’s and Nicolas von Hemelryck's invitation to young women who live in La Arcadia, a public centre for vulnerable teenagers in Bogotá. The story of the fictional Alis allows the young women to gradually open up and speak about their past traumas and experiences, but also about their hopes and desires.  The directing duo spent more than five years in La Arcadia, held documentary film workshops and prepared to shoot the film with the help of psychologists and trauma experts.
