AHENDU NDE SAPUKAI
2008, Argentina/Paraguay
Pablo Lamar
Depending on your viewpoint, this film is either an invitation to concentrate on the smallest details for a quarter of an hour, or to enter a contemplative world in between: at first, all that can be seen is a human figure standing a few metres from a wooden hut, silhouetted entirely in the dark against a twilight sky. Then, choir singing is laid over the sounds of nature and, later, more shadowy figures enter the scene. Cinema and philosophy meet in this meditation about life, death and backlight.
