A INVENCÃO DO OUTRO (THE INVENTION OF THE OTHER)

A team of FUNAI employees (a body responsible for indigenous affairs) and a group of Korubo travel deep into the Amazon, close to the border with Peru and Colombia. They want to make contact with relatives who live there and are still largely isolated. They go there because of illegal action by loggers and smugglers; but they also want to reconcile the conflict between the Korubo and the Matis. The film impressively documents the first encounters between indigenous and non-indigenous people and bears witness to an emotional family reunion.
