In the feature film competition, six outstanding, international feature-length films are nominated for the prize of the Province of Tyrol, which is endowed with 5,500 euros. The international jury, which changes every year, consists of three experts. Like all juries in the competitions, they will jointly decide on the winning film in a jury meeting.
Six outstanding international feature films are nominated:
Cao Liuying is a producer, film critic and curator. As co-founder of Midnight Blur Films and its international sales agency Parallax Film, she has brought many films from Asia to prestigious festivals and sold them to major territories around the world. Cao co-founded the film critic platform DeepFocus, serves as co-director of Red Lotus Asian Film Festival Vienna and artistic director of Chinese Film Festival Munich and works for Shanghai International Film Festival and Berlin Critics’ Week.
Djamila Grandits is a Vienna-based curator, film programmer and part of the curator’s collective CineCollective and the cultural diversity initiative D—Arts. She is on the pre-selection committee of Berlinale Panorama and a member of the non-fiction commission of Zürcher Filmstiftung. She programmed events with Diagonale, DOK Leipzig, Kasseler Dokfest, frameout, sixpackfilm and tricky women/tricky realities. Her practice focuses on entanglements and the exploration of collective spaces.
Farzad Pak is an award-winning Iranian film producer as well as founder and CEO of the PakFilm and Filminiran production companies. With a career spanning over 25 years, he has produced an impressive range of feature films and documentaries, recently including: the Golden Bear-winning THERE IS NO EVIL (2020); ENDLESS BORDERS (2023), winner of the VPRO Big Screen Award at IFFR; and MY STOLEN PLANET (2024), second place in the Berlinale 2024 Audience Award and winner of the Documentary Award at IFFI #33.
