EIN LIED FÜR BEKO entstand und spielt an der armenischen Grenze zur Türkei und ist der erste Film, der in kurdischer Sprache gedreht wurde. 1988 – Bekos Bruder Cemal wird von türkischen Militärs als Deserteur verfolgt. Als sie ihn nicht in seinem Heimatdorf antreffen, nehmen sie an Cemals Stelle Beko mit sich. Dem gelingt jedoch die Flucht über den Euphrat nach Südwest-Kurdistan, wo er sich einer Flüchtlingsgruppe anschließt, die Husseins Armee bisher entgehen konnte. Während Beko sich um die traumatisierten Waisen im Lager kümmert, hofft er sehnsüchtig auf Nachricht von seinem Bruder. A SONG FOR BEKO takes place on the national border between Armenia and Turkey and is the first motion picture shot in Kurdish. 1988 – Beko`s brother Cemal is being chased by the Turkish army for being a deserter. As they are unable to find him in his hometown, they abduct Beko instead. Yet Beko manages to escape across the Euphrates to Southwest Kurdistan, where he joins a group of fugitives who were able to flee Saddam Husseins army so far. While hekeeps on hoping to receive a message from his lost brother, he takes care of the traumatized orphans in the camp.
