Summer in the city: Rome is deserted, the cinemas are closed. Nanni Moretti roams around the city on his Vespa. Shortly afterwards he drives to Lipari to the sea. Moretti wants to work there but traffic and mass tourism stop his efforts. So he carries on. Finally when he reaches Alicudi at the edge of Italy he manages to write his new movie. Nanni Morettis melancholic late summer game of deception between fact and fiction brought him the Award as Best Director in Cannes in 1994.
