Michelangelo Antonioni

Antonioni’s film dissects the emotionally stunted life of the high society, in which price is everything and value is nothing, and he spans an ambiguous web of deception and speculations. After about half an hour into the film, the female protagonist disappears. A little later, her lover and her best friend give up the search for her. Not because the hope is fading, but they seem to gradually forget the reason why they are on the move. Instead, soon fashionable hotels and cocktail receptions became attractive again.   Italy/France 1960 Regie: Michelangelo Antonioni 145 min, 35mm, German dubbed
