In the mid-1950s, Marlotte and Peter Backhaus went for an unusual journey around the world. In their Goggomobil they went from Germany via Spain across Africa and South America to Japan, India, Tibet and Persia. They travelled through 80 countries and 4 continents. “Seeing the world through one’s own eyes and meeting people from different cultures”, was their pronounced motto. After a number of years they returned with fascinating pictures and added personal comments to their film.
