Designed by Mario Pani as a visionary sky scraper landscape in Mexico-City in the 1960s, Tlatelolco was damaged by the violent repression of the students’ protests on the plaza de las tres culturas in 1968, struck by the earth quake in 1985, and has been affected by the dissolution of the social homogeneity of its inhabitants. Without comments and by focusing on the architectural elements, director Lotte Schreiber allows us a glimpse into this ‘vertical city’, and shows us a sociotope from inside and out that still seems to be intact despite all the concussions it has gone through. read more
