Garapa is a mix of sugar and water – the staff of life of many people in Brazil who are starving. Parents who cannot offer their children anything else but Garapa, suffer even more under their situation. Director José Padilha follows three starving Brazilian families for thirty days – one in a big city, the other in a village and the third family that lives far off any communal constitution.
