LE CHAT DU RABBIN – THE RABBI’S CAT

In the early 1930s, Sephardic Rabbi Sfar lives with his beautiful daughter Zlabya and her tomcat in Algiers. The wise rabbi is also a tolerant scholar, who likes to dispute with his best friend, Sheikh Sfar. One day Zlabya’s tomcat gains the ability to speak. So the rabbi wants the tomcat to study the Torah in order to become a good Jewish cat. But the animal insists on javing aBar-Mizwa. The arrival of a parcel from Russia complicates things.
