KOUNDI ET LE JEUDI NATIONAL

Koundi is a village with 1200 inhabitants. It is one of the major villages of Cameroon´s East Province. With the help of their most important resource timber the inhabitants want to improve their living conditions. In order to legalize forestry operations, they create their own organization. Tradition is, besides modern lifestyle, still important to the community. To safeguard their existence in the future, they decide to clear a piece of forest and create a cacao field. They declare a National Thursday: Once a month everyone works together for their new future means of existence. read more
